I’ve been back several times, including on a trip with the Welsh Rarebits Collection, where I got to test some of the best hotels near Tenby, Wales (and the rest of the country, of course).

Regardless, I’m sure you’re going to have an amazing time visiting Pembrokeshire! I have checked prices for one night in June, hoping that will be a representative average for one night’s stay in Tenby. June is almost peak season (July), so prices could increase if you are travelling in the school holidays. At the same time, they could be a lot less if you are visiting Tenby in the winter or low season. Without further ado, here are some of the best places to stay in Tenby, sorted by budget!

The Normandie is a popular hangout for locals, and one I remember well from my time in Wales. The Heywood Spa Hotel
You can’t go wrong with a spa hotel, right? The Heywood is a family run spa hotel, just 500 metres from the beaches of Tenby. This cosy guest house offers a great location in the centre of Tenby, comfortable beds for a good night’s sleep, and fantastic coffee (according to guest ratings on Booking.com). Sunny Bank has uniquely decorated guest rooms, and (like many of the others on the list) offer free wifi for all guests.
This hotel is aptly located along the cliffs over Tenby’s South Beach, and boasts of a dining room with panoramic views of the ocean. In fact, it is not only located on the cliffs, it is partly build into the old Stone Walls of Tenby Old Town! How cool is that? This is a modern hotel, with a great restaurant to match.
The Park Hotel
This hotel offers incredible views over Tenby’s North Beach, and you’ll find that there are some lovely terraces and gardens for you to stroll around in and enjoy the views. In addition to free wifi and parking, the Park Hotel also has an outdoor swimming pool for guests to use.

Belgrave Hotel, Tenby
The Belgrave Hotel Tenby is another hotel located along the Esplanade, with views looking out to Caldey Island. The hotel itself is a Grade-II listed building from 1874, which (to me) is reason enough to stay there. Each room has a flat-screen TV, a wardrobe, and the hotel also has its own restaurant; The Galley.
Penally Abbey Country House Hotel and Restaurant
This beautiful hotel is set in a grand manor, and every single room has original features and unique decor to match. In some of the rooms you can enjoy the scenic views of Camarthen Bay, and there is free wifi and a restaurant on the property. The classic restaurant offers crystal chandeliers and views of the garden, and is worth a visit even if you aren’t staying at the hotel.
Hotels with a view of Tenby Harbour
Out of all the places to stay in Tenby there are some that stand out for a reason. They offer a view of the breathtaking Tenby harbour. Tenby harbour is a well-known image to many, and often used in campaigns to promote Wales as a destination. The colourful houses perched at the top of the cliffs over the beach make for a stunning backdrop, and it’s easy to see why these hotels are so popular.
The Royal Lion Hotel
The Royal Lion is another bar with rooms, and you’ll find this little gem inside the famous town walls of Tenby. Some of the rooms here are overlooking Tenby Harbour, so if you want that million dollar view, this is the hotel for you. It is also quite budget friendly, and you can get rooms for less than $130 per night if you book this Tenby accommodation early!
Tenby Harbour View
Naturally, a place named ‘Tenby Harbour View’ will have a view of Tenby Harbour. This apartment (yes, it’s an apartment) offers free parking and wifi, and is just a couple of minutes from the beach in Tenby. From the balcony you can enjoy stunning views of the Tenby Harbour, and spend your mornings taking in the beauty of the town.
The best hotels near Tenby, Pembrokeshire
There are many popular hotels in Tenby, Wales, but you’ll also find some great ones outside of the town. Pembrokeshire is a beautiful area with lots to see, and staying in one of the hotels near Tenby might just be a better pick for you than staying in town. As mentioned above, I used to live in Pembrokeshire, and the place is very close to my heart. There is so much to see and explore, and I know you’ll fall in love with it during your stay! Below you’ll find my favourite hotels near Tenby, Pembrokeshire.
St. Brides Hotel, Saundersfoot
As mentioned above, I spent a year living in Saundersfoot as an exchange student when I was 17. It was an incredible year, and I made friends and memories I’ll never forget. One of those memories was looking up at the beautiful St. Brides Hotel and Spa, at the top of the cliffs in Saundersfoot, hoping that one day I would get to stay there.
Fast-forward 10 years, and my wish came through. I got to spend a night there, testing out the spa and amenities of the hotel, through my collaboration with the Welsh Rarebits Collection. It was such an incredible experience, and I could not recommend this hotel enough. The views of Saundersfoot and the ocean are breathtaking, the spa is incredible, and the beds oh so comfy. And let’s not even begin to talk about the amazing food.
If you are looking for a proper getaway and pamper session, St Brides Hotel is for you!
The Corran Resort & Spa, Laugharne
Another amazing hotel I stayed in near Tenby, Pembrokeshire was the Corran. This former working farm has been turned into a proper country getaway, and I truly wish I could have stayed there for longer than just one night. If you want to read more about this hotel, I have written a full review of the Corran here.
At the Corran I was greeted with a glass of sparkling wine (yes, please), and recommended to book a treatment at their spa (don’t mind if I do). The room I stayed in was both spacious and cozy at the same time, something I believe comes from the fact that this hotel used to be a farm. I felt like a character out of a Jane Austen novel during my stay there, and loved every second of it.
Twr y Felin, St. Davids
Fun fact: St. Davids is actually the smallest city in the UK. With it’s cathedral it has been given the city status, but the place reminds you more of a charming town than a bustling city. Twr y Felin Hotel is located a short walk from the beautiful St. David’s Cathedral, and is a hotel worth a visit.
The modern hotel has beautiful pieces of art hanging throughout the hotel, each especially commissioned for the Twr y Felin Hotel. The building used to be the local lighthouse, which adds a fun touch of history to your stay. The restaurant, in particular, makes this hotel worth a visit.
