About Lisa – Travel blogger & Writer

My name is Lisa Stentvedt, travel writer, blogger and author of Moon Norway. I am an expert on all things Norway, but cover destinations all over the world as I explore new destinations and countries.

I’m the woman behind Fjords & Beaches (as well as the niche travel site Flam Travel Guide, which is all about travelling to Flåm and the area where I grew up).

I’ve been sharing travel guides and tips since 2010, back when Fjords & Beaches was known as LisaLDN, a name that came about after I moved to London to study law in 2010. Years later, it was time for a rebranding, and Fjords & Beaches officially went live January 1st 2017 – taking the best of LisaLDN with it!

Fjords & Beaches is a travel blog dedicated to those who won’t stop exploring. It is intended to be a serious resource for the curious-minded wanderlusters out there, so if you’re looking for travel tips and inspiration – you’ve come to the right place!

The tagline ’Stay young, keep moving’ points out the blog’s emphasis on never tiring of life and staying young at any age – through constant exploring of the beautiful planet we live on! You are never too old to travel and to explore the world, whether your preferred method is relaxing on a cruise ship, swimming with sea turtles or zip lining through a Norwegian valley.

The categories up top are there to help you navigate the site, and you’ll find that all posts and articles are divided by destinations and topics. I am all about fun, young travel (I call it “millennial travel”), and you’ll find diving, sailing and hiking, but also posts on budget travel and luxury travel up there.

I was blessed enough to be born and raised in a small village in Western Norway. If you’ve ever seen photos of the beautiful Norwegian fjords, you’ve most likely seen a photo from my hometown.

Side note: if you (like many others) found my blog to enjoy my expertise on travelling Norway, you are gonna love these custom-made (by yours truly) Norway itineraries!

I usually introduce myself as a Norwegian wanderluster with chronic sarcasm, a severe coffee addiction and a constant longing for the ocean. This longing, paired with where I’m from has formed the basis of the name Fjords & Beaches.

I started blogging when I moved to Wales as part of an Exchange Program at 17. The blog was simple, and purely to keep in touch with my friends and family at home. After an amazing year in Wales that I will never forget, and another year back in Norway finishing high school/Sixth form (during which I continued blogging as a hobby), I followed my dream of moving to London to study law.

I spent three amazing years living in London, every day a reminder of how much I love the city. This also lead to a new blog being formed, one which I kept writing and updating for years to come; LisaLDN.

After graduation, I moved across the another pond to work as a Cultural Representative in Walt Disney World, Florida! Working for the mouse was an absolute dream, I dare go as far as saying it was … magical.

I am currently travelling the world as a full-time travel blogger, working hard for the money to travel as much as I please, all while refusing to grow up. I am also putting a lot of time and energy into Fjords & Beaches, and I love seeing the blog grow!

Other things you may want to know about me is that I am addicted to coffee (we’re talking 3-5 cups a day – black, no sugar), I have an American accent that I can’t seem to shake, I feel incredibly lucky to be able to travel as much as I do, and I am a huge PotterHead.

I’m extremely talkative and love hearing from you guys. We can connect all over the internet, so go ahead and find me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tiktok.

If you’re interested in working with me, you can head over to this page!

Hei!

Oslo is a great city to visit! You’ll need to make your way over to the fjords, Tanja – they’re stunning! London is such an amazing city, I’m glad you’ve got to experience it 🙂 Where in England did you live? 🙂

Enjoyed the blog post, Lisa! My children and I used to love to visit Disney World. If you ever come back to the U.S., you should visit Charleston, SC, probably the most picturesque and historic American city. I’ve lived here more than four decades, during which time it has become transformed from a down-at-heel southern backwater to one of the most popular tourist destinations in the U.S.

LisaLDN 24/05/2016 - 00:48

Thank you! I’ve actually visited South Carolina, and had to drive through the State from South to North (I stayed in Rock Hill) – it was such a beautiful State! Would love to visit Charleston one day!
