Spending a weekend in the Danish capital is a fun affair. There are lots of things to do and see, plenty of places to eat (and drink, trust me), and in general so much life. Naturally, when you are spending such a short time in such a vibrant city – you need to make sure you have a great place to stay. A place where you can relax, put your feet up and have a drink in the bar.
I love cities like Copenhagen, where you can walk around forever, taking in all the sights of the city, and not noticing how tired you are until the end of the day. That’s when your hotel room becomes a life saver, and Hotel Kong Arthur truly was ours!
During our Danish weekend Ida and I stayed at the Hotel Kong Arthur, a decision made after looking at several hotels and browsing through a bunch of websites. Kong Arthur looked to be right down our street, with great reviews and luxurious looking rooms. It didn’t take us long to make up our minds, and we checked in to the hotel excited as ever.
Our room (a double superior) was spacious and comfortable, and we especially enjoyed the view into the courtyard. Since the windows opened all the way, we were able to climb up and enjoy it from a prime location.
I’m a huge fan of any kind of hotel breakfast, and always make sure to stay at hotels where they serve up a mean one. At Kong Arthur, their breakfast focused on fresh, local ingredients – which is always a plus! Having an organic and sustainable breakfast definitely gives them that extra something, and we were especially chuffed with the beer waffles and all the choices in organic cheese.
Now for my favourite detail at the Kong Arthur: Every afternoon from 5 to 6pm they invite their guests to ‘Cozy Hour’ in the lobby! We attended two out of three days, and I happily accepted my large glass of yummy red wine before bringing it up to the room to drink it in the window. It was a very welcomed treat after a day of walking around in the city! The timing was ideal as well, since that’s usually when you are back at the hotel after a day of exploring anyway, before heading back out for dinner.
I warmly recommend staying at Kong Arthur for your weekend getaway to Copenhagen – make sure you check out their website for bookings here!
