With ample legroom and plush cushions, you just know you’re in for a smooth ride, my friend! And don’t even get me started on their in-flight entertainment – it’s seriously top-notch.
From the latest blockbuster movies to an extensive selection of TV shows, you can binge-watch your favorite sitcoms like there’s no tomorrow. The hours will fly by as you immerse yourself in a world of entertainment.
Let’s talk about the food. From the moment the aroma of freshly prepared meals wafts through the cabin, you know you have a good thing coming.
Their food is so good, it could put some fancy restaurants to shame. Picture savoring a tender, perfectly cooked steak accompanied by a medley of flavorful side dishes. Every bite is a culinary delight that will leave you wanting more.
One of my favourite personal touches in the Emirates Business class cabin was that I was greeted by name, and that the “main” steward personally introduced himself to me, and used my name for the duration of the flight.
I thought that was such a nice touch, making me feel even more spoiled than I already was!

Is Qatar Business Class better than Emirates?

Oh boy, they don’t mess around either. Flying with them is like being invited to a swanky party by your rich distant relative.
Side note: I have travelled in several configurations of Qatar business class, including their Qsuite. I have gone into slightly more detail about the Qsuite below, but will start with the general business class (usually the a380 business class).
From the moment you step foot on the aircraft, the staff treats you like royalty, ensuring your every need is met with impeccable service. The comfort and luxury are simply unparalleled, or at least, on a level with Emirates.
And when it comes to dining, Qatar Airways offers a whole new level. It’s as if they’ve snuck a 5-star chef onboard just for you (maybe they have).
Each dish is crafted with the finest ingredients. From gourmet appetizers to indulgent desserts, every bite is a symphony of flavors that will transport your taste buds to culinary heaven.
My absolute favourite is the Arabic Mezze, which I have ordered on more than one occasion. The hummus is out of this world.
Switch gears to the Qsuite (introduced by Qatar in 2017), and you’ll find yourself in a world where privacy is king.
The Qsuite offers complete privacy with door-controlled suites around your seat.
The cabin’s lack of overhead storage in the center lends a sense of spaciousness, although it might be a tiny bit annoying for those seated in the middle. But the one thing that really soars high for me is the universal power outlet. Now, that’s a ‘suite’ little touch for us tech-junkies!

Qatar vs Emirates Business Class: Detailed Comparison
When it comes to Qatar vs Emirates business class, the differences are not always obvious at first glance. But once you have flown both, you start to notice where each airline really stands out.
Here is how they compare across the things that actually matter when you are sitting at 35,000 feet.
Seat & Privacy
This is where the biggest difference lies, and honestly, it can completely change your experience.
Qatar’s Qsuite is in a league of its own when it comes to privacy. You get a fully enclosed suite with a sliding door, which makes a huge difference on overnight flights. It genuinely feels like your own little cocoon in the sky.
That said, not all Qatar planes have the Qsuite, and this is important. If you end up on one of their older configurations, the experience is still great, but much closer to Emirates.
Emirates, on the other hand, offers a more open business class cabin. The seats are wide and comfortable, and still very luxurious, but you do not get that same level of privacy.

Food & Dining Experience
Let’s talk about one of my favorite parts, the food.
Both airlines serve seriously impressive meals, and we are talking restaurant-level here. But the style of dining is different.
Qatar offers dine-on-demand, which means you can eat whenever you want. This is especially great on long-haul or overnight flights when you do not want to be woken up for meal service.
And I have to say it again, the Arabic mezze on Qatar is just incredible. I have ordered it more than once, and I would do it again without hesitation.
Emirates follows a more traditional meal service. That said, the quality is still fantastic, and there is something quite nice about the structured experience, especially on shorter flights.

Service & Overall Experience
This one is close, really close.
Both airlines deliver exceptional service, but the style is slightly different.
Emirates feels very polished and consistent. One thing that really stood out to me was being greeted by name and having that carried throughout the entire flight. It is such a small detail, but it makes you feel incredibly well taken care of.
Qatar, however, feels a bit more personal and intuitive. I still think about how my wine glass was refilled every single time it got low. It almost felt like they just knew.

Cabin Design & Atmosphere
This one comes down to personal preference, but it still affects the overall feel of the flight.
Emirates has that classic luxury feel, with lots of wood finishes and warm tones. It feels slightly more traditional.
Qatar feels more modern and sleek, especially with the burgundy tones and cleaner design.

Consistency (I really think this matters!)
This is something many people overlook, but it really matters.
Emirates is very consistent. You more or less know what you are getting when you book business class with them.
Qatar can vary depending on the aircraft. If you get the Qsuite, you are in for one of the best business class experiences out there. If not, it is still great, just not quite at the same level.

- Willing to take a chance for the Qsuite? Qatar
Entertainment & Extras
Emirates is hard to beat here.
Their ICE entertainment system is one of the best in the sky. Huge selection, easy to use, and perfect for long flights.
Qatar is still very good, but Emirates just has the edge in this category.

So, Qatar or Emirates?
If I am being completely honest, it depends.
If I am flying long-haul and can get the Qsuite, I would choose Qatar every time.
If I am not guaranteed the Qsuite, I would probably go for Emirates. It is just so consistently good that you almost cannot go wrong.
My Honest Experience Flying Both
After flying both Qatar and Emirates business class multiple times, I can confidently say that this is not a simple “one is better than the other” situation.

Emirates and Singapore business class beats Qatar by miles. Qatar too many add ons, staff efficient rather friendly, pods are cramped. Flew b class once with Qatar, never again.

For what it doesn’t have in privacy and “modern finish,” Emirates makes up for the after-flight service. Emirates B has a chauffer and Dubai is one of the best places to spend an extra 12-20 hours layover with free accommodations.
And Emirates B class has that flying bar. You can make many “friends” in that bar, maybe even potential business partners.

Based in Singapore, mostly flying SQ out. Honest opinion having the luxury of trying out all 3 in one year, SQ is a solid 3rd. By miles Emirates 2nd, very close to Qatar the best. Considering all the extras, yes they can cost a lot more, and you need to be calculative with the menus, exact seat etc. but that’s the luxury of upgrading, there’s always a price to pay. Emirates’ new refurbished interior with the new wood trim imho looks the most luxurious, feels extremely comfortable and cozy. But when the stars are all aligned by merits Qatar is truly No.1 by far. Singapre’s older hardware deficit and the hardness of the bed just cant be offset by the crew which can have their batch variations similar to Qatar, Emirates service standards to me is the most volatile.
