It was a summer filled with adventures in the US, and I was particularly excited about this one. Prior to my stay at the Margaritaville, Biloxi, I kept stalking their Instagram account for photos of the swim-up bar and the lazy river. Those are two of my favourite things in the world, so you can imagine how pumped I was in the weeks leading up to my stay! I got to play, explore and relax at the Margaritaville Resort for two whole days before starting on my road trip from New Orleans to South Bend, IN (via Nashville), and it was the perfect start to my trip.
As mentioned, my excitement leading up to the stay was mainly due to the swim-up bar (the summer in Norway hadn’t been great so far), but I also couldn’t wait to stay at a Margaritaville Resort for the first time ever. I had only once before dined at a Margaritaville restaurant (in Orlando, FL), and absolutely loved it. You know I love a fun theme that’s done to a T (you may remember my amazing stay at the Hard Rock Hotel in Bali), and I knew the Margaritaville Biloxi, MS would be right down my street!
Checking in to the Margaritaville Biloxi, MS
I arrived at the hotel quite late, after 28 hours of travelling (but at least I was flying SAS Business Class, so you know I enjoyed the trip). I rocked into the Margaritaville reception a little past midnight, and the first thing that hit me was the smell! There was a pineapple scent infused in the hotel (don’t ask me how), and it smelled heavenly. Like the perfect mix of Pina Coladas and tropical sunscreen, and I immediately started wondering how I could make that happen for my apartment.
I loved how friendly the staff checking me in where, and this was a trend throughout my stay. Everyone was so helpful, happy and friendly! I quickly checked in, and arrived to my room (a King Corner Suite) to find that it was huge! You can imagine how excited I was for the next day as I had a much-needed shower (in my massive rain forest shower) and passed out in my huge king bed.

My suite at the Margaritaville
As mentioned, my suite was huge. I arrived to a large lounge area, complete with a kitchenette and room for a large family. I’m pretty sure my parents, 3 siblings, my 3 nieces and my nephew could have all joined me in this room without a problem. But I was lucky to get to enjoy it all to myself.
The bathroom was massive as well, with two sinks, a rainforest shower, a deep tub (I’m 1.80m and I could comfortably soak myself in it, and amazing lighting for applying makeup. One of my biggest pet peeves is when a hotel doesn’t have good bathroom lighting. Thankfully, at the Margaritaville, this was all taken care of.
The bedroom was, as you can guess, huge. A large king bed, a comfy chair to read in, a tv and never-ending closet space convinced me that I could have stayed here for two weeks without any problems. The interior of the room was beachy, as expected, and I loved the wall decorations.
Then there was the view. As you can see from the photo above, it was absolutely breathtaking, and I spent every morning having my coffee out on the balcony, soaking up the views of the gulf. And yes, the room had a coffee machine (of course).
The best part about the Margaritaville
Seriously, the absolute best part about this place, in my own humble opinion, was the pool area. And by that, I also mean the swim-up bar. I spent the better part of my time there, so I should know (there is seriously nothing better than sitting waist-deep in the water, sipping on a fresh cocktail and reading on my Kindle (side note: get a free month of Kindle Unlimited here).
Not only does the Margaritaville have a 450 feet lazy river (so relaxing), but they also have 2 water slides (so fun)! Naturally, I had to try it all, several times, and I not have some pretty epic videos on my GoPro waiting to be published.
Right by the pool area is also the Margaritaville Restaurant, which I strongly recommend! I enjoyed a lovely 3-course lunch (#casual) there, and it was great. The Spicy Chicken Sandwich was definitely my favourite, but make sure to save room for the chocolate brownie sundae (it’s worth it, I skipped fries for it).
A huge shoutout to Jennifer at the swim-up bar, who kept me company all day and took photos of me (and let me try several of their signature drinks without judging me).
This place has it all
The Margaritaville offers a whole lot more than the pool, slides, swim-up bar (did I mention the swim-up bar?) and it’s several restaurants. There’s a gym for hotel guests (I spent a couple of hours there on my last day trying to burn off some of those yummy margaritas), a gift shop and a coffee shop, and let’s not forget Escape.
Escape is labelled “55’000 square feet of awesome”, and it sure is! It’s both an arcade and an amusement park, and offers lots of fun games for the whole family. The climbing course shaped like a volcano actually goes into the Margaritaville Restaurant, and as I had my lunch I watched kids try and climb it, thinking that my 14-year old nephew would have LOVED it here.
Spending time at Escape is perfect on a rainy day, or when the sun turned out to be a little too hot.
So there you have my Margaritaville Biloxi review! It’s definitely a hotel I recommend, and I am so happy to have gotten to experience it. I loved the tropical theme, the fun atmosphere and the friendly staff, and will definitely be back. I even got some new apartment decor from the gift shop.
