I have grown up visiting Oslo approximately once a month my entire life. My mum was born and raised there, my sister currently lives there, and we have plenty of family friends to visit in the capital of Norway. In spite of this, I love to check into a good hotel when I have the chance. There are many good hotels in Oslo, so many that I have even written a post featuring the best hotels in Oslo for you to choose between.

Love This Hotel: Thon Hotel Terminus
On a recent visit to Oslo, I was lucky enough to stay at Thon Hotel Terminus, which has officially made it to my list of favourite hotels. I was in town to see some friends, but also to see Cats the Musical on their tour. Terminus is one of the most central hotels you’ll find in Oslo, and within walking distance of Oslo Spektrum (the concert arena), Oslo City (one of the main shopping centres) and Karl Johan Street (shopping street and the road leading to the Norwegian Palace).
I checked into Thon Hotel Terminus and was greeted by a super welcoming staff. By the time I arrived, it was almost midnight, and I was quite tired after a 6-hour trip from the fjords of Norway. I was really excited to check into one of their junior suites during my stay and loved the luxury of having it all to myself.
One of my favourite things about staying at a Thon hotel is that their city hotels often offer a complimentary evening meal buffet. This is absolute gold if you’ve spent a day shopping in Oslo and need a little bite before heading out for the evening.
The evening meal at Thon is only beaten by the breakfast. As a huge fan of hotel breakfasts, I’ll admit I’ve got a pretty high standard when it comes to everything from the juice to the egg varieties. At Thon Hotel Terminus they’ve obviously got your regular choices in bread, hams, cheeses and fruits. They’ve also got some killer omelettes (made to order), fresh Norwegian pancakes, and most importantly; fresh smoothies, juices and ‘vitamin shots’ for the healthy people! I like to pretend I’m extra healthy when I’m travelling, so I always grab one of the green shots – so yummy!
Let’s chat about the room for a minute. Staying in a junior suite was nothing short of heaven, and I could have stayed in my room at Hotel Terminus for another week if only I wasn’t heading to Spain right after. The bedroom was large, with a lovely window in the ceiling over the bed (hello stars), and the bathroom was equipped with a proper make-up mirror – none of those overhead lights that you find in most hotels (which I hate!).
The living area had a desk with a Nespresso machine, which couldn’t have been better. After announcing that I’m becoming a full-time travel blogger, I’ve been busier than ever, and I had loads of work to do. So I sat at the desk for quite some time editing photos and answering (exciting) emails. There was also a funky lounge, equipped with a smart TV (as in all their rooms) and comfortable sofa. This is where I spent my evenings drinking wine and watching Netflix. So lovely.
Last, but not least, I want to give a shoutout to their common room/lounge. After checking out on my last day, I went back to the lounge to work for a few hours. I couldn’t have been in a better place! I had access to a bunch of newspapers, fresh coffee and ice cold water (with or without gas) – free of charge. Perfect for anyone visiting Oslo on business!
As you may have gathered by now, I absolutely loved staying at Thon Hotel Terminus. I even think it may be my new favourite hotel in Oslo! You can read more about it on their website, and you can also book your stay at Hotel Terminus here.
I was invited to stay at Thon Hotels as their guest, but as you all know, I would never vouch for a hotel I don’t genuinely love. Only my absolute favourite hotels make it to the ‘Love This Hotel’ series.
