But, Pura Vida is more than just bracelets and days on the beach – it’s a lifestyle. Don’t give in to negatives, and don’t waste your time regretting something you can’t undo. Pura Vida is the original YOLO, as it encourages everyone to make the most of their life and to just stay happy.

How to live a Pura Vida Life!
Realise what matters
This deserves and upwards pointing emoji. Knowing what matters and what makes an impact on your life will make a huge difference. Some things aren’t worth your time, so why give it any? The things and people that make you feel better and happier are what matters in life, the rest should all come in second (or not at all).
I recently read a book called ‘The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a Fuck‘, which made it a hell of a lot easier to figure out what to ignore and what to waste my worries on. I highly recommend it! It also leads into the next point on the list.

My all time favourite quote. After hearing this for the first time two Summers ago I made it the cover of my planner. It reminded me that I’m the only one who can allow myself to worry about people and situations I can’t control, and realising this made letting go of the stress so much easier. Tricking myself into simply ‘not giving a fuck’ made me lower my shoulders a little and caused less stress.
Get some sun whenever you can
This is vital to the Pura Vida lifestyle and living a Pura Vida Life! It is scientifically proven that sunlight makes us happier and healthier, so make sure to soak up that Vitamin D! Here in Norway we don’t get much sun at all during the Winter month, but we sure make up for it in the Summer! In the warmer months it doesn’t get properly dark here, and you can easily tell that everyone is more content with their life and plans. The vibes are not just great – they are happy!
So, whenever and wherever you can: head outside to soak up some of those rays! Don’t forget your SPF and thank me for the tan later.
Release pressure by not giving into it
When the world is on your shoulders, just smile and let it go. Yes, I just quoted an S Club 7 song, but surely you must agree with their point? When you’re feeling the pressure, ask yourself how you got in that situation in the first place. And then next time, make different choices. Pressure is there all the time, and we are all affected differently by of it, so try not to put yourself in situations where you know you’ll get stressed out.
Most importantly, have fun!
This is #1 on the list, and should be your go-to in all aspects of life. Life is too short to be bored, so spend it doing whatever you love! If fun is a beach party with your closest friends, go ahead. If fun is a night with Netflix and no chill, be my guest. If fun is sweating it out at the gym, just do it! If you’re anything like me, all three of those are perfect past-times depending on my mood – and that’s exactly how it should be. So have fun in any way you can, and spend as little time as possible doing all the yucky non-fun stuff.
