I am a month late to this party, but I think it’s time to do a little 2015 recap for you guys! The year started off a little rocky, with a lot of traveling between Oslo and my home town. I lost two of the most important people in my life within 2 weeks of each other, and still can’t get used to the idea of life without my grandparents.
Travel wise, the year picked itself up after February, and started off with a trip to
Paris Disneyland and to London just the week after. As you may already know, I’m a huge sucker for anything Disney, and London is my favourite city – so it was the perfect way to spend Easter!

I also joined 30 of my closest friends on an aprés ski trip to the mountains of Norway, but I would have to shoot you if I share the photos, so let’s not mention it.
While finishing off the term back in Oslo, I waited impatiently for the next trip – a proper ‘soak in the sun’ girls holiday with two of the best! Ida, Josephine and I headed to Zakynthos, Greece to get our tan started in time for the summer holiday, and loved every second of it!
What followed was an amazing summer by the fjords, and I am so happy to call that village home! The weather could have been better, but we still made the most of every day! Most of my summers are spent working (how else do you think I afford to travel?), but there was also a lot of play. Hiking, drinking, kayaking and playing by the fjords. I can’t wait for another summer like that, so bring on June!
All good things comes to an end, and so did the summer of 2015.. I headed back to Oslo, but it was with a light heart as Sunshine had invited me to Australia for Christmas! We started planning the trip, and Dubai and the Philippines was quickly added to the tour.
Once September came along, I headed to Vilnius, Lithuania with a bunch of people from university, and it truly opened my eyes to Eastern Europe! I was so positively surprised at the beauty of the city, and hope that my posts have inspired you to give it a visit too. Read my Vilnius city guide here!
It wasn’t long until I was back East, because the next month I headed to St. Petersburg, Russia! All though it was absolutely freezing, I couldn’t get enough of the city, and happily visited the Church on the Spilled Blood, the Winter Palace and Peterhof! The only thing I wish I did was book a later flight back home, because I definitely didn’t get to see everything I wanted.
Back in Oslo for a month and a half (and to finally catch up on some studying) I explored the city like a right tourist, and managed to publish a few guides on how to spend your days here. Check out this one, for example!
By December, I was itching to get going again, and finally the big trip was on my doorstep. I headed off to Dubai for a few days, only to continue on to Australia! I finished 2015 on a lighter note than it started, by watching the fireworks from Darling Harbour in Sydney – 15 hours before everyone at home in Norway!
All in all, 2015 has been a great year for traveling – and I only hope that 2016 will be just as good! I’ve already got my first trip booked, can you guess where I’m heading for Easter?
